What makes ATOW different?

Most whiskey tastings are led by a representative from a whiskey brand. They detail their whiskey line-up and highlight their premium offerings.Ultimately, they will try to sell some whiskey. There is nothing wrong with that.But our tastings are different.Every whiskey tasting at AToW is blind. You won't know what you're drinking until the end of the experience.
You will enjoy whiskey without label bias and expand your palate and whiskey knowledge.During the tasting you will learn:
- Proper whiskey tasting technique
- How to pick out tasting notes
- What differentiates bottom and top-shelf offerings
- The differences between Whiskey, Bourbon, Scotch and other expressions
- How Whiskey is made and how the process influences the final product

Who is your host?

Alex Shaw is an Executive Bourbon Steward and whiskey enthusiast. His passion for speaking and teaching shines in his presentations and in his other work as a weight loss coach for whiskey drinkers.His whiskey journey started when a friend poured him a glass of Blanton's. He fell hard down the Whiskey rabbit hole and he refuses to climb out. His current favorites are Weller Full Proof and Old Elk Wheat Whiskey.

How it works

1) Choose your event size:
Private Tasting or Class Tasting.
2) Select your tasting experience.
3) Provide the location.
4) Set up a time and date with AlexNotes:
- We provide all whiskey and glassware.
- The provided Location cannot hold a liquor license.
- Service is only available to DFW area. Subject to limitations. Additional charges may occur based on travel distance.

Event size: Private Tasting

For up to 11 people.
Ideal for small gatherings.Enjoy an intimate tasting experience with your friends, family or colleagues.Starting at $500 per event (based on tasting experience and event size).

Event size: Class Tasting

For 12-24 people
Ideal for corporate events, HOA's, and sales entertainment.Treat your residents, employees or colleagues to a professionally curated whiskey tasting and learning experience.Starting at $600 per event (based on tasting experience and event size).Events for 24+ people can be quoted upon request.

Bourbon Across America

  • Taste the differences between Bourbon from Kentucky, Texas, Tennessee, and Indiana in this journey across the USA

  • Note: Four 1oz pre-poured whiskey samples, a tasting notes worksheet, and one Glencairn glass are provided per person

Whiskey From Around The World

  • Experience Whiskey from across the globe. You'll discover how history and culture change the whiskey from Japan, Ireland, Scotland, and the USA.

Allocated Bourbon Flights (Additional Premium)

  • Is it Blantons? (One bottle of Blantons and three sub-$50 bottles).

  • Blantons Flight (Ancient Age, Blantons Single Barrel, Blantons Gold, and Blantons Straight from the barrel).

  • Weller Flight (Special reserve, 107, Full Proof, and 12 year).

  • EHT Flight (Small batch, Single Barrel, Barrel Proof, and Rye).

  • Note: Any remaining whiskey from allocated bottles will be left with host.
