A Taste of Whiskey
NOT your normal Whiskey Tasting

A Sommelier-Led Whiskey Tasting. Brought to your venue.
Are you looking for a fun and engaging event for your friends, employees or clients?Do you like Whiskey?...You're in the right place.
What makes us different?
Most whiskey tastings are led by a representative from a whiskey brand. They detail their whiskey line-up and highlight their premium offerings.Ultimately, they will try to sell some whiskey. There is nothing wrong with that...But our tastings are different.Instead of focusing on a single distillery we can do curated journeys through different Whiskey regions and styles.Or we can do BLIND tastings BLIND - where you won't know what you're drinking until the end of the experience. As well as enjoying a Sommelier-led experience we will also cover:
- Proper whiskey tasting technique
- How to pick out tasting notes
- What differentiates bottom and top-shelf offerings
- The differences between Whiskey, Bourbon, Scotch and other expressions
- How Whiskey is made and how the process influences the final product
Who is your host?
Alex Shaw is a Level 3 Certified Whiskey Sommelier and Executive Bourbon Steward with a background in public speaking and education - including teaching at the University of North Texas. He can walk you through the difference between a high-rye mash bill and a wheated bourbon and explain why barrel entry proof matters. Even if you've never thought about any of that before, you'll leave knowing more than you expected.Whether you're hosting a corporate team that needs a memorable evening or a group of friends who just want to drink well and learn something, Alex brings the expertise to make it educational and the energy to make it fun.
